Previously I had the Camtasia version 7 and I used to compile video files. Recently I updated to Camtasia version 8. After the upgrade when I try to open a project which was created in old version, I am getting this error message. Is there any way to convert the file to new one? Any method is there to open the old version projects? Can anyone help me? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

I think what you mean is, after upgrading to Camtasia 8 you created and save a project and then you tried opening that Camtasia 8 project in Camtasia 7 and that’s when the error started. Like with any other program, such as Microsoft Office Word, it is not possible to open a file that was created using a much newer version of the program.
If you have Camtasia 7 and Camtasia 8, projects that were created using Camtasia 7 can be opened using Camtasia 8. But projects that were created using Camtasia 8 may not be opened using Camtasia 7 because it is not supported. But if you really want to open a Camtasia 8 project on Camtasia 7, it is possible to read the version 8 recordings but it doesn’t guarantee that it will work.
On your computer where Camtasia 7 is installed, you need to install the TSC2 Codec. Download and install it and then try opening the Camtasia 8 project.
