Hi!

I tried using AVG Free since my Kasperksy license is about to expire in a month but after installing it, Google chrome seems to slow down and some sites don't even load.

What can be the cause of the problem?

I'm using AVG Free 2013.

Hello Satcey,

Try re-installing your Google Chrome browser hopefully the issue will be resolved after new installation. Basically it’s the problem of Chrome Shockwave plug-in and AVG compatibility. You can call AVG phone support line at 0800-0721-799 and follow the instructions.

Hopefully you will have your issue successfully resolved by this.

Hello Stacy,

I would suggest that you close your AVG internet protection by disabling it in your Google Brower. That Google should work just fine now

If you want to really have secure internet browsing. You might need an extension to do that. ADBLOCK plus. Don't worry it's free.Abdock Plus closes all harmful pop-ups in your browser and unwanted advertising banners. Here's what you need to do.

  1. Open your Google.
  2. Go to the upper right and you should be able to see 3 horizontal line icons and click it.
  3. Go to your Tools menu.
  4. Click on Extension
  5. You should now have the chance to search Adblock and  install it.

If you don't prefer adding add ons. Then you might as well try competitors of AVG, such as Avira free. That might be the one for you.

Download Free AVIRA here.

The best way to solve this problem is to go ahead and disable the Software temporarily. That way you should get rid of the Hangs your experiencing. Just make sure you're not entering malicious site because you are vulnerable to viruses.

Choose what's best for you.

Hope this helps.
