ASIO Output Error for Foobar

Hello guys,

I am using the Asus g74sx xt1. I have recently installed a Xonar d1 sound card in my system. A friend of mine suggested me to use ASIO output for Foobar to get a clean and clearer sound. So I installed .dll file in the components folder and updated Foobar to the latest version. I updated it to version 2000.

Now when I try to initialize Foobar 2000, I get the following error message on the screen:

Foobar 2000

Foobar 200Encounter an error

Internal Error – One or more installed component have been

damaged

                                                                  OK

I need your guidance in resolving the issue. Any help and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Looking forward to your replies.

Thanks.

Judy

ASIO Output Error for Foobar

Try reinstalling foobar and the ASIO component.

You usually have to configure an ASIO virtual device before you can listen to sound in foobar. I suspect that error is because you have not properly configured ASIO yet by adding a profile. Go to preferences > playback > output > asin virtual device and create a new one. If the native Asio driver for the Xonar does not show up, you will want to install ASIO4ALL and try creating a virtual device again.

As far as "cleaner" sound goes, when using digital out ( optical or coax) ASIO creates a set of virtual devices that compare the output to ensure that the sound flowing out of the digital port is bit perfect and that no data is lost before the processing step on the external source.
