I setup my computer to have a motherboard with 4 Xeon/4Core processors and with 48gb of memory. Now, I need to choose the operating system to install on it. Is there a 64-bit OS that can support my current motherboard setup? I will be using the computer as a stand-alone and not as a server.

I can't answer your question directly as you have not provided the exact model number of your processor. Whether a processor supports a 64-bit Operating system doesn't depend on the number of cores or memory. It depends on the architecture of the processor. 
 
– Check the exact model number of your processor. 
– Check whether your processor is formed based on 64-bit architecture. 
– You can do the above by looking at your motherboard packaging or from the Intel website. 
 
If your processor supports 64-bit architecture and you have at least 2 GB of Ram, your motherboard will support a 64-bit Operating System.
