On our Cisco 3560 Switch, there are Vertical IP phones connected to it and the QoS is not yet configured.I just need to verify if to configure non Cisco phones, will it make any difference if I use the command 'auto qos voip trus' instead of 'auto qos voip cisco-phone'?

Which command to use to configure non-Cisco phones

Hello,

The command “auto qos voip cisco-phone” causes the switch to automatically enable the “trusted boundary” feature. This feature utilizes the CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) to specifically detect the absence or presence of a Cisco-brand IP phone. The command “auto qos voip trus” causes the switch to automatically configure the ingress classification on the interface to trust the CoS/DSCP (class of service/differentiated services code point) value that is received in the packet.
