I want to make a backup of my movies on a remote location. Right now they are on my laptop. I want to be able to play them remotely whenever I want. When I heard about the cloud I thought it could be what I am looking for. So is it? How do I do it?

One of my roommates attached an Ethernet cable to his Xbox, and then suddenly the Wi-Fi wouldn't work in the rest of the house. Is there a reason for this? How would we fix this if there is a solution?

I would like to be able to measure a distance to an object. For example, let's say we were playing golf and I wanted to know exactly how far away I was from the hole, exactly! I know we can do this via satellite navigation (and there are products out there that can already do this), but is there another solution? If I was to attach something to the hole (or the flag that goes in the hole) that sends a signal to a receiver I am holding, would that be possible?

Which browser is the best? Any recommended extensions? Free or cheap anti-virus software I can get. Programs or websites I should definitely avoid etc.

I have gazillion digital photos but very displaced. I was looking at iPhoto as a way arranging them and putting them in order. I know about Apple’s iCloud and Google’s Picasa but I want something different. So what do you think is the best option that will work with iPhone and iPad?

Was the lack of good tablet apps as big of a problem as everyone said it would be? And what about the superior build-quality of the iPad? Between a tablet and an iPad, which one has more apps available?

My new laptop won't connect to the WiFi at my house, but can connect when I'm in my friend's house, in the library, etc. No other devices in the house have this problem (phones, consoles, tablets, other laptops/computers can connect easily) and yet my connection is always "limited". Can anybody offer any advice/troubleshooting?

Is there any way to make some settings so I can't access certain websites? Perhaps something that can block certain websites for a set time, and won't allow me to access them no matter what I do, for a set amount of time? There are some online games that I do not want to play but I always see myself playing them and wasting my time. So can this be achieved?

I used Google Search Engine with mixed results when looking for audio transcription software. I don't honestly know what I'm looking for and that makes me feel dumb. Say I had a voice recorder, I interview someone for an hour, now I want to take that audio and transcribe it, saving me the time it would take to transcribe it myself. I'd still want review it for errors. Any clue where to start?
