Preventing myself from accessing certain websites

Hello,

Is there any way to make some settings so I can't access certain websites? Perhaps something that can block certain websites for a set time, and won't allow me to access them no matter what I do, for a set amount of time? There are some online games that I do not want to play but I always see myself playing them and wasting my time. So can this be achieved?

2) Go to 'Tools', Select 'Internet Options', Go to 'Content tab'

Internet-Options-window-in-Internet-Explorer

3) Click 'Enable', Go to 'Approved Sites', enter the websites you want to block
4) Enter a password to block it
5) When you want to access the website, you need to enter the password

The steps to block the website in Internet Explorer are as follows:
1) Go to the HOSTS file located at 'C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32DRIVERSETC'
2) Open the HOSTS in notepad
3) Type '127.0.0.1 name of the URL you want to block'
4) Close the notepad and answer 'Yes' when prompted

Hi there,

I also waste my time on certain websites. To block them I followed the following steps. They are given below:-

1. Open Windows Explorer and type in C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc

2. Open the host file with notepad.

3. Locate the line 127.0.0.1 localhost.

4. Press enter and create a new line.

5. You can now block any site but you have to preface it with 127.0.0.1, for example:- 127.0.0.1 facebook.com.

6. Save the file. If you can't do it right click on the hosts' file, choose Properties -> Security and make sure all the boxes are checked in your user account.

I hope my solution works for you.
