Hi,

Installing Microsoft office 4.3 in windows to allow access to old files.Word and excel both will return you share.exe error. The virtual C: contains no utility but you can copy share.exe from DOS to DOSBox's problem will be like this C:>C:DOSSHARE.EXE

Incorrect DOS version.

Here is some quick research the reported version can be altered by the VER command in SETVER in retro DOS.

C:>VER
DOSBOX version 0.74. Reported DOS version 5.00
C:>VER SET 7.0
C:>VER
DOSBox version 0.74. Reported DOS version 7.00

DOSBox version 0.74.

Then launch the share.exe

C:>C:DOSSHARE.EXE
SHARE installed

After loading this you can now open it but going in this long process I will suggest you try to install Homebrew it will be helpful.

Microsoft Office 4.3 is quite an old version to still be using in modern operating systems. If you want to use this, check that your computer meets the requirements. Microsoft Office 4.3 supports Windows 3.x, Windows NT 3.1 or higher, Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, and Windows 98. It requires Intel 386 or faster processor, 6 MB RAM, and 29 MB free space.

Microsoft Office 4.3 includes applications Microsoft Office Access, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Publisher, and Microsoft Office Word. If your copy has a problem, try downloading again from Microsoft Office 4.3 on WinWorld.
