The Domain Controller Recovery helps in the restoration of RID Master and Schema Master SID. They may result in corruption and orphaned objects. But, AD replication can automatically distribute all need data to a new DC. The recovery process includes seizing al FSMO roles of DC, rebuilding the failed one, Redeploying FSMO roles. There is authoritative and non-authoritative restore. So, it is very useful feature for restoring DC database.
