I was trying to extract this game that I have downloaded over the internet but winrar is saying that it is damaged? What do you think is the problem and are there any way that this file can be extracted?

Winrar giving error when trying to extract

I think i know 2 possible solutions. Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and delete winZip and all it`s content. Since it`s free and comes from the internet, it could be damaged and useless.
Go to this page, and download the free version of winZip, install it and try again.

If this does not work, then your file could actually be damaged, so try extracting it on another computer to see if it`s working.
If you manage to extract it elsewhere, just copy the extracted content to your PC.

Winrar giving error when trying to extract

Hello Zebbena,

In case your WinRar is in the file format .rar, you could be getting that error because of the following reasons:
The file that are dealing with could not be .rar file. It may be some junk file that has got a  .rar extension, but in real sense it is not. For instance, an avi  that has been saved with a .rar extension will not work as a .rar file.
In case you used FireFox to download the file, then you will need to use the "pause" and "resume" options when downloading the file. Just let it to download without any interruptions. Note that rar files are so sensitive for they are highly encrypted. In the event that something little goes wrong when you are downloading it, the whole file becomes useless.
