Could not perform installation on my Win XP computer

I've got some error of installation in XP. It could not perform because of an device error. Can someone help me with this problem? Please help me.

Could not perform installation on my Win XP computer

  • Hit shift+F10 to get to DOS prompt.
  • Type "sysdm.cpl" which will take you to the system screen.
  • Click hardware tab then devices to take you to device list.
  • Locate your cd drive and it may have a yellow error symbol over it.
  • Right click the cd drive and click properties.
  • Click the driver tab and click update driver.
  • Choose install driver from specific location.
  • Click don't search i will choose.
  • Choose the very first generic cd driver on the list click "next".
  • Then reboot.
