Hi Miguel

Have you tried repairing it? Repairing all the windows live messenger programs will fix it.

Simply go to start button, click my computer, local disk C:. Program files (x86), windows live, installer, click repair. Then restart your computer, try signing in to your account.

Or try installing the old version of Windows live messenger, because the new version has many bugs. After installation of old version it will automatically updates to the newest version. And you can sign in to your account.
