Windows Installer has stopped working after Windows XP installation

Hi, when I install Windows XP then it show an error message. Windows show that it has stopped working. But I do not stop it. Automatically it is stop and not works. Many times I try and same error.

"Windows installer has stopped working.

Windows is checking for a solution to the problem…"

Can I fix this problem? If yes then help me to solve it. Thank you

Windows Installer has stopped working after Windows XP installation

Hi Himanakhatun!

Please check if there are peripherals such as printer, USB key, etc attach to your computer.

You need to turn it off and remove it all. Take note, reinstalling Windows XP would delete all of your saved files so you have to make sure that you already backed it up as your copy.

Turn it back on and boot from the Windows CD.  You may check out this link that will serve as your guide in reinstalling Windows XP in your computer:

If an error will occur again during the reinstallation then you need to debug your hard drive.
