Hi there,

I have Dell XPS 8500 PC running on Windows 8 which I  upgraded to Windows 8.1 then tried to update drivers for my  HP Printer, it was working well and after shutting down the computer, now it gets stuck on the boot loop, going on and off, am getting this message"The USB device connected malfunctioned and Windows could not recognize it, please try to reconnect it again"  right before it goes off, what could be causing this problem? How can I resolve this?

Hello Frank,

The problem might have not been caused by the installation of new drivers.

If the USB cable from the printer to your computer is connected during the boot process, then the system may be trying to boot from the printer and failing in the process.

Disconnect the cable and try again.

If it still does not work, press F9 or Del or a corresponding key to go into the BIOS. From the boot order, change the First Boot Device to your primary hard disk drive.

Save changes and restart your system.
