Hi experts,

Recently, I decided to install the latest Windows 8 OS but when during the installation the computer restarted and displayed an error message. The error says that the Windows installation cannot proceed.

I restarted the installation but the same error appeared. Can I get the solution to demolish this error?

Thanks in advance.

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed.

To install Windows, Click “OK” to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.

Hello James

This is a tipicall error and it usually shows up when computer restarts,or power goes down. In order for you to fix it, when this error shows up, hit SHIFT+F10. This will open a command prompt. Type in regedit and press enter.

After the registry editor opens, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> SETUP -> STATUS -> CHILD COMPLETION. In the right, find setup.exe. Double click it, and change the value data to 3.

Exist regedit, hit enter at the error screen. Computer restarts and after that everything will go on without errors.

I hope you will find this information useful.
