I have lost Wi-Fi connectivity for my laptop. I was trying to update the firmware recently. Now the problem i am facing is that when i turn on the Wi-Fi by ressing function key F2,the Wireless connection not even shows my Netgear connection. Wi-Fi is fine and it works with my mobile. In device manager following adapters are available Intel centrino wireless-N 1000 WAN miniport (IP) #2 Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter #1 to #4 Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Driver What is the issue? Are there any utilities to detect whether the Wi-Fi adapters are functional? Where can i get the drivers for the said adapters? My laptop is Dell, N5010 and has Windows 8 OS.

Now your system may not be detecting the Wi-Fi due to missing firmware or any files when you try to update the firmware. As you have already mentioned that you can access the Wi-Fi through your phone.

1. So you should be better reinstalling the driver which dell may have provided to you when you have purchased the system.

2. You can also download the latest drivers from the manufacturer website.

3. Form the Dell website also you can download the drivers for your system.
