Why my Microsoft Security Essentials is not turning on?

Hey Guys,

I have installed Windows 7 just few days back and Microsoft security essentials also with it. But what I noticed off lately just today is Microsoft security Essentials is not running any scans or giving any notifications. So I checked it is off and I'm unable to on it. Please tell me how to turn it on.

Why my Microsoft Security Essentials is not turning on?

Hello,

Microsoft Security Essentials is a little bit problematic security solution with good support but more problem.

First, uninstall MSE. If you’re unable to remove MSE installation, you should try uninstalling MSE manually. Learn how to uninstall MSE 1.0.1963 and MSE 2.0.1963. After uninstalling, download the latest Microsoft Security Essentials. Update and scan your PC for any malware.

You can use any other antivirus program, for example, Norton, Kaspersky, AVG, Avira etc. They are very powerful ones to keep you safe.

There are many rootkits that might do the same trouble, too. You can use Norton Power Eraser, GMER, Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit, Kaspersky TDSSKiller etc.
