What is a virtual practical modem? I am using a normal modem to get an internet connection from my internet service provider and this is the basic knowledge that I know about modems but now that I hear about this virtual practical modem I am just wondering what are the difference and its additional features. I hope you will be able to let me know all the information needed.

Virtual modems are softwares used to emulate hardware modems. This software allows any hardware modem applications to run through the internet or through LAN. This software uses the remote IP addresses of the computers instead of direct-dial calls with real modems. Because of this you can say goodbye to phone call charges, busy and unreliable phone lines.

There is a great differences between an internet modem and LAN. A LAN connection provided by the ISP and a modem are buying from any computer or Phone shop. On the other hand a modem connection contains a DHCP IP number but a LAN connection contains a physical IP address t. So, I hope that you will understand what is the difference between Modem and LAN.
