I was going through the Task Manager looking at how much RAM was Chrome using when I saw a rather strange exe process running in the system. It is the kmaestro exe file. Is this a malicious file? It sounds like one.

What Is Kmaestro File Is It Safe

The genuine kmaestro.exe file comes with BTC KMaestro software from BTC. It is a software and driver program for multimedia keyboards. It is not part of the OS and usually runs in background processes. I must warn you that malicious versions of this file do exist as it can register keystrokes.

It is adviced that you run a complete system scan of your computer and if a virus is detected, act as required. Meanwhile, unless your antivirus tells you to delete the said file, let it be. However, if you feel so strongly, you can go ahead and remove this file from your system. It is not an OS file so if removed, it will not affect your computer.
