What could be the possible effects of using a notebook cooler?

I am currently using Hp laptop and for some months now I have being using the laptop or notebook cooler. I would like to know the affect of this device on my computer, be it positive and negative? I do not want to do anything to destroy or damage my computer. Thank you.

Laptop coolers are meant to protect the laptops from overheating and protect the user from heat discomfort. By lowering the PC temperature, cooling pads increases its performance, but they do not work as expected. They lower down the PC temperature by just 2-3°C which doesn't make much difference in performance. If you are using it on your lap it would definitely help you against heat discomfort.

Laptop coolers or cooling pads are the best alternative if your laptop starts to have problems with its cooling system. You will notice the problem when the machine starts to have untimely shut down. One immediately solution when your laptop starts to shut down randomly is to use an electric fan to cool down the machine while you are using it.

But this is not convenient because of its size and it occupies space. With a cooling pad, you can let your laptop cool down without the cooling device occupying any space. The cooling pad is plugged to the USB port and can have different cooling speeds depending on your needs. If you are playing a game, you can set the speed of the cooling pad to high.
