Hi,

Apart from the free 'Microsoft Security Essential", there is plenty of antivirus software. Well, the best way to secure your PC is to buy an Internet Security package. The best of the antivirus software is of course Kaspersky Internet Security, by Kaspersky Lab.
It is relatively cheap, uses less resource.

Then there are Norton 360 and McAfee. They are good, well in some aspects they are better than Kaspersky, but they are huge resource user. So, you need a heavy performance computer to use them.

There are Quick Heal also. Apart from internet security they sell a package named total security which also protects your mobile phone.

And last but not the least, AVG antivirus free. The Best thing about it? It's Free.

Happy Virus Killing,
Regards,
Prakash

There are several significant security improvements in the Windows 7 operating system, including tools that improve network security, privacy, parental controls and even integrated protection from malware. But even with the heightened security, a separate antivirus software or internet security suite is a must-have.

Though there are different antivirus program for Windows 7, I think 'Microsoft Security Essentials' is the best for your computer to protect against viruses, spyware and other malicious software . It is a new, free consumer anti-malware solution for your computer. It’s available as a no-cost download for Windows XP SP2 and higher, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.

It installs after a quick download and Genuine Windows validation and then stays automatically up-to-date with the latest protection technology and signature updates. It runs quietly in the background and schedules a scan when your computer is most likely idle. You only see alerts when you need to take action.
