Using my old Blackberry ID, I logged into BBM for Android. I didnt understand why, but I got a new PIN on this device. Please let me know if these PINs are specific for each device and how can I revert to using my old PIN again?

You can use your old BBM pin on an Android device.
The steps to use BBM for Android are as mentioned below:
1) Open the Google Play on the Android device and search for BBM
2) Select the latest version of BBM and click 'Download'
3) Enter your email address and click 'Next'
4) User will receive the confirmation email, Click 'Next'
5) In the welcome to BBM screen, click 'Sign in'
6) In the profile window, enter the old BBM pin, click 'Continue'
7) After this the BBM is installed in the device
8) Use the options to invite your friends to chat, SMS, MMS through BBM
