I want to merge my D and E drives in my system, and I am not able to merge them. Do I want to know how to merge the disk partitions in the computer?
It is important to fragment the disks when you buy a computer to keep your data and windows data separately. Following are the steps for how to merge disk partitions –
1.) Right-click on the computer icon on the desktop and open the disk management under the manage option.
2.) Right-click on the partition you want to remove and delete it.
3.) Right-click the partition you want to eXPand and choose extend option.
This is how your disks will get merged.
If you are thinking of merging two (2) partitions, you need to remember that you cannot merge non-adjacent partitions. That is, if there is an unallocated space between the partitions, you cannot merge the two partitions directly. In this case, either of the two partitions should be extended first to occupy the unallocated space. When the space has been eliminated, you can then perform the merge.
On the other hand, if the two partitions you want to merge are separated by a partition, you need to delete first the partition between the two and then extend one of the partitions to occupy the resulting unallocated space then finally merge the two partitions. Once installed, start Partition Master then right-click the first partition to merge and then select “Merge”. Next, select the partition sitting next to the partition you previously selected then click “OK”. Click the “Execute Operation” button at the top then click “Apply”.
