Vpntray has stopped working when running AnchorFree Expat Shield

I’ve been using AnchorFree Expat Shield, a VPN program which provides the user a UK IP address, for some time now without experiencing any problems.

However, yesterday the program wasn’t able to execute and a Windows error pops-up saying “Open vpntray.exe has stopped working.” I tried searching the net for any possible solution but failed.

Does anyone of here know any solution to this problem?

If so, then I’m definitely grateful to your help.

Vpntray has stopped working when running AnchorFree Expat Shield

The EXE crashes are usually because of the presence of malware. It can also result due to a corrupted ISO image.

To solve this you need to be patient.

1. Restore the computer to an earlier date and run the software in compatibility mode

2. Uninstall the software ,download a fresh copy of it and then re-install it again

3. Sometimes the windows installer also gets corrupted. Upgrading the installer could also solve the issue.

4. Running CHKDSK utility to fix file and registry errors also helps and saves time to recover windows ,before other programs also start failing which usually happens due to corrupt file allocation tables.
