VMWare Fusion PC Installation Pending Previous Installation

I can’t install VMware Fusion PC Migration Agent on my PC (Windows XP). When trying to install the software, I get the following message.

A previous installation/reboot is pending. Please reboot to complete the

installation and try again to install

                 OK

I reboot and cannot find the software installed, and if I try to reinstall the agent I get the same again.

I am running Win XP SP3 professional edition.

Thanks for any help.

VMWare Fusion PC Installation Pending Previous Installation

Your error is occurring because it can still detect the program in your registry. You can try and use any registry cleaners to be sure that your registry is clean from all of your previously uninstalled programs.

After cleaning the registry and rebooting your PC. You can try and re-install your VMware Fusion PC Migration Agent Installer on your PC. Everything should work fine now.

VMWare Fusion PC Installation Pending Previous Installation

Hey Hi Henry,

It seems to me that the error indicates that when you tried to install this software at first time you did not completed it. In that case i want you to try the following steps:

 

1) Go to Control Panel.

2) Select Add or remove programs.

3) If in the list vmfusion appears then click on uninstall.

4) Restart your PC.

5) Then try installing again.

 

If this does not work send an email to https://www.vmware.com/ then try installing the software from the file given by them.
