This must have happened due the corruption of offline cache of your system. You can clear the cache manually.

  1. In ‘All control panel items’, go to Sync centre.
  2. Under the ‘Manage offline files’ menu, go to ‘Disk Usage’ and delete the temporary files.
  3. Your cache is now cleared. Try deleting the file once again.

That error normally happens on Windows 8 and the full message reads “This file is currently not available for use on this computer”. The error is caused by a corruption in the offline cache. The method in the previous post is the recommended solution to fix the problem. In case the method didn’t work, here’s another way of fixing it.

This method requires going to Safe Mode and running the Windows registry utility. First, restart your computer in Safe Mode. To do this, restart your computer normally then press F8 on your keyboard before the Windows logo appears. In “Advanced Options Menu”, select “Safe Mode” then press Enter twice to boot in Safe Mode.

Once you’re in Safe Mode, click “Start” then type without quotes “regedit” in the search box. Click “regedit” from the result to open it. In the registry editor, go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC\Parameters”. Here, click “Edit”, “New”, and then select “DWORD Value”. Name it without quotes “FormatDatabase” then hit Enter. Once it is created, double-click it then change its value to without quotes “1” then click “OK”.

Restart your computer and see if it works.
