Understand the basic difference between fast Ethernet vs. Gigabit Ethernet
Hi. The difference between fast Ethernet vs. Gigabit Ethernet has been explained in the points mentioned below-
1) Gigabit Ethernet is a more advanced technology than fast Ethernet and has a speed of 1000 Megabit/sec.
2) Gigabit Ethernet has a better performance than fast Ethernet
3) Gigabit Ethernet is costly as compared to the less expensive fast Ethernet
4) Gigabit Ethernet requires a more specific network which supports it
5) Gigabit Ethernet has a greater bandwidth as compared to a fast Ethernet
6) Gigabit Ethernet came into existence in 1999, 4 years later to the fast Ethernet which was introduced in 1995
7) In Gigabit Ethernet, manual arrangement is a must but in fast Ethernet, this is not required because they automatically connect to the network
Hope we helped.
