Unable to start downloaded version of DIAdem

I need a clear answer why I keep on getting too many errors after downloading DIAdem. After installation, I tried to run the program but an error appeared saying that the internal DIAdem data organization returned an initialization error.  Please see the picture below.

I also tried to restart my PC but after restarting, an error came up saying that DataFinder cannot start due to an internal error and I also cannot open the configuration file. Please see the second picture below.

Do you have any idea why I am unable to start DIAdem? Please I need your help. Thank you.

The file that is being pointed in the second error has something to do with all of the mess. As this error also gets on startup means that there is something that is not letting this to start everytime the windows starts.

The messages you posted indicates that there is a problem in the configuration files of the USI or underlying Universal Storage Interface is corrupted. These mostly happen when the registry files are being damaged by some sort of power failure or virus.

If you are using windows xp go to C documents and settings, all users, application data, national instruments, shared, usi, config and rename the file storetypes.usiconfig. After you are done renaming then launch the DIAdem, the file that you renamed will be recreated again and you will never see the error again. You can delete the old file too if you want to.

In case of Windows 7 the same path would start from the C program data, national instruments, shared, usi, config.
