Hello all,

The operating system Windows XP pro is running on my PC. I installed XAMPP on this and now, I cannot start the Apache.
When I press 'Start', the following window appears:

I also made a check to find the problem. I ran the XAMPP port check, but there was nothing wrong. The Apache port was free and clear. I have attached the screenshot below:

I have also installed Skype on my system, but that is also not running. I am not even able to open the application.

I have tried a lot to solve this issue, but now I am at my wits end.

Can anybody help me?

Looking forward to your useful replies.

Thanks in advance.

For you to solve that problem you need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) which you can find here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5582

It will install the runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries because it is required to run programs which are developed with visual C++. You need to check your operating system; Check if your operating system is compatible for this one at the bottom of the site. Then just follow the instruction below the site. After that installation try your apache server. Now it should work.  You can check some other error from your apache server from this path xamppapachelogserror.logr 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows XP
