I am trying to use OUTLOOK 2007 and PCitunes v8 on my windows XP desktop. I can successfully synchronize my 1st Gen iPhone OS v3.0 but an error message pops up after the "merge" (not replace) synchronization is done. It wants to reconcile Outlook vs. my iCal. I'm only syncing my calendars. When I click the first occurrence of use iPhone" to reconcile which calendar (Outlook vs. iPhone) is correct, the error message appears. iTunes then doesn't allow me to correct any (other) calendar conflicts but gives me error message "Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server."

You didn't state if you have successfully installed your sync server if not then download and install it. Check secondly that your firewall isn't the hindrance here. You may start by contacting your MM support services so that they help you fix the problem. If you

still want to try it on your own then try this, try resetting your sync history by selecting your outlook pane and then clicking on the check-box to make it your default for all recurring conflicts. This process takes long so be patient because at some point you may even need to repeat some process even three to four times. Like I choose the outlook as my default browser again and again I even lost count of the times. The whole process takes a minimum of 30 minutes to a whole hour.

Yes, you can synchronize your Microsoft Office Outlook calendar and tasks with iCal as well as synchronize your tasks and notes with Apple Mail. To make this happen, Microsoft Office Outlook needs to use a central database on your computer called Sync Services. But if your Mac is already running on Mac OS X Mountain Lion you might encounter some problems because it no longer supports Sync Services.

Go to Tools and then select Sync Services. See image.

On the left panel, select the box of the first item you want to synchronize [Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes]. See image.

  • In “Select the accounts to sync”, select the account you want to synchronize for the item.
  • In “Outlook folder to add new items to” pop-up menu, select the location in Outlook where you want to save it.
  • If you need to synchronize other items, repeat the first two steps with image. When you are done just close the Sync Services dialog box and then click OK to confirm.
