Unable to remove domain from 365

Hello,

I have a domain name with my Office 365 which I am seeking to move from one account to another. I have eliminated all mailboxes and distribution groups, and there is nothing allotted to this domain. As I about to click “delete”, there is an error message that shows that somewhat is allotted to the domain thus far there is nothing appearing.

I have eliminated 2 other domains from my account so I know I have done what was correct and also obeyed other posts on here but to no avail.

Can somebody assist and help me with removing this domain please?

Thanks.

Unable to remove domain.

We can’t remove the stevebates.co.uk domain because of one pr mpre of the following issues:

There are user accounts associated with this domain.

There are email or Microsoft Lync accounts using this domain.

Hi there,

I'd like to give you a few tips to try:

The first thing you should know, but I guess you already know that – sometimes it takes some time before the domain is deleted. It can take up to 48 hours before everything's shown properly, so if you're not in the hurry, wait for that period to pass before doing any further steps.

In case you are hosting a SharePoint site and have the domain name associated with the SharePoint žcollection, you will have to delete the site collection before you can remove the domain.

Also, sometimes happens that some user accounts just keep hanging on the domain with no real reason. To remove all the users associated with the domain backup your users' data and then remove the accounts completely. You can try changing them instead of removing them, but I'm not sure it will work for sure. Once all the accounts are removed, delete the domain and recreate the user accounts.
