I just installed Windows 7 and then configure my local and Microsoft account. But when I logged in to my Microsoft account, I was unable to access the local account anymore. Also, when I tried to change the time and the date, an error showed up. I am running my computer as the Administrator so I am confused on the error message. Please help.

Unable to Change the Time and Date in Windows 7

This is very strange because this error only happens if the user is using a limited or the standard user account. But if you are the one who installed the operating system personally then supposedly you should not have any problem associated with permission because automatically your account will be the administrator.

Verify that you are logged in using the right user account. In case your computer has other usernames in it, make sure that you are using and logged in using the administrator account and try changing the date and time again. Anyway, here is the correct procedure how to change the date and time. Click Start, Control Panel, “Clock, Language, and Region”, and then double-click “Date and Time”.

Select “Date and Time” tab and then click “Change date and time”. If prompted for a password, type your password. In “Date and Time Settings”, adjust the hour, the minutes, and the seconds. Click OK when you are finished. If you wish to change the time zone as well, click “Change time zone”. In Time Zone Settings, select your present time zone from the dropdown list and click OK.
