It is possible to connect a computer to another computer over the network by means of WiFi. You can also transfer files through WiFi but you need a modem or a router. WiFi offers an outstanding speed which allows you to transfer files easily. If you try to connect to the internet through a wireless router, you can be able to share your files to another computer. Just ensure that you are under the same workgroup and then Ping each computer.

When in a network, a data or a file can be copied or moved from one workstation to another with the help of a network card and a network cable. When you copy a file to another computer in a network, the file is converted into data streams somewhat like an electric current by the network card.

When the data is converted, the network card will then pass the data on to the network cable going to the destination workstation or computer. When the data stream reached the target workstation, the network card will then convert the data back into machine-readable language, will be saved into the hard drive and then will be displayed on the screen.
