I have HP Envy Sleekbook 4 which has Windows 8 installed in it by default. Few days back, when Microsoft released it's new version Windows 8.1, my laptop start showing message to update the current version of Windows 8 to 8.1. I ignored it everytime but now it is generating problems in the audio of my Laptop. One of the beats audio speaker has stopped working. I have to reinstall the audio drivers, everytime I login, to make them work properly. Please help.

Hi Deborah,

You probably have been using an incompatible version of the audio driver. In order to be sure,

1. Install your current driver.

2. Go to Device Manager by searching it from the right sidebar.

3. Check whether your sound driver is shown in the list.

4. If not found, check under the Other folder.

5. If there is a yellow mark, right click on it and go to properties to find out the problem.

6. Click on Check for Update and install them if any update is available.

Otherwise, you can also search the compatibility over the internet or download the latest version of the sound driver from the manufacturer page. Don't forget to double check the model number to install the exact version.
