Today, when I was printing some documents using my Hp printer, it printed the documents but, after five minutes when I tried to print some more documents, it was showing this ‘unable to install printer error 0x00000006’ message. I tried to restart the system, uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but it is still showing this error. How can I fix it?
The Solution Of ‘unable To Install Printer Error 0x00000006’ Message
The first thing you have to do is to uninstall the driver, which is currently installed in your system. Follow the steps to do so-
For Windows7-
- Open the ‘Control Panel.’
- Uninstall the drivers from there.
For Windows8/10-
- Open ‘Run dialog box’ by pressing ‘Windows’ key and ‘R’ key simultaneously.
- Type ‘Control Panel.’
- Click on ‘Run.’
- Open ‘Devices and Printer.’
- Right-click on ‘Network Printer.’
- Click on ‘Remove device.’
- Select ‘Yes.’
Now the second step will be to add the printer as local. Use these steps to do so-
- Go to the ‘Device and Printers’ window.
- Click on ‘Add a printer.’
- Select ‘Add a local printer.’
- Click on ‘Create a new port.’
- Cross-check the type of port; it must be ‘Local port.’
- Click on ‘Next.’
- Now, you have to type the network path and name of the network printer. Type it in the following format ‘ComputerName\PrinterName.’
- Now, you have to follow the instructions appearing on the screen, it will complete the installation process of the printer drives.
- Click on ‘Replace the correct driver.’
- Click on ‘Next.’
