When did Microsoft announce Microsoft Windows 2003 r2 end of life status? Which versions will be supported by Microsoft further?Will the older applications be replaced?

Technology Refresh: Windows 2003 r2 End Of Life.

Microsoft announced Windows Server 2003 r2 end of file in July 2015. WS03 is a stepping stone between NT server 4.0, and other later versions will not be supported by Microsoft further. Since the date has been made official, the older applications under Windows 2003 r2 will be replaced or updated to newer versions. Windows Server 2003's end of life is tricky, and a lot of people were happy with Windows server 2003 r2.
