Suggest me better performing processor
Hi Charles Garcia,Â
These processors are one of the leading CPU's in the AMD company. They are all similarly alike, but it still has its own differences that greatly separates them from each other. Although these processors are all quad-core, they still differ in little ways. However, in the case of AMD FX4100, it has only 2 physical cores, but still counted as 4 cores because of its 4 module processors. To give you a better view, I have provided you a table of its features.
Features | AMD FX4100 | AMD Phenom II X4 955 | AMD Phenom II X4 965 |
Core Frequency | 3.6/3.8 Ghz | 3.2 Ghz | 3.4 Ghz |
Cores | 4 | 4 | 4 |
L2 Cache | 4 MB | 2 MB | 2 MB |
L3 Cache | 8 MB | 6 MB | 6 MB |
Thermal Design Power | 95 W | 125 W | 125 W |
Motherboard Socket | AM3 + | AM3 |
AM3 |
Basing from the table, AMD FX4100 has a higher core frequency; however, the other two processors will still beat the AMD FX4100 because of its 4 physical cores which the AMD FX4100 doesn't have. The more the cache the better the performance; you get the picture. The AMD FX4100 uses less power than the two processors which uses 125W, and it also uses AM3+ socket which is the latest socket among AMD motherboards.
In performance, I suggest you AMD Phenom II X4 965 because of it four core capability, and it positively beast the AMD FX4100 in performance; however, choosing AMD FX4100 is not also a bad choice because it is an AM3+ socket which is open for futuristic expansions. Either of the two, it will satisfy your computer needs.
