Spybot installation and registry trouble

Hey, I’m having a small problem installing Spybot to my PC. Funny thing is I already had it before but my computer crashed and it was somehow deleted with a bunch of other stuff. So anyway, now during the installation I get this message:

“Error

Error creating registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.iso RegCreateKeyEx failed; code 5.

Click Retry to try again, Ignore to proceed anyway, or Abort to cancel installation.

Abort                  Retry                    Ignore”

Any idea on how to get rid of it?

Retry or Ignore are not an option.

Thank you in advance.

Be sure you are logged in as the Administrator before installing Spybot. If you are, run a disk check on drive C to check the drive’s file structure for errors that are preventing the installation from finishing.

  1. Right click drive C and then choose Properties.
  2. Click Tools tab.
  3. Click Check Now button.
  4. Check Automatically fix file system errors then click Start.

Try installing it again after the disk check. If it failed again, disable your antivirus temporarily and then restart the installation. The antivirus might be restricting the setup wizard from writing into or modifying the Windows registry. If disabling the antivirus didn’t even helped, restart Windows in safe mode and then install the application.
