Is it true that Sprint has decided to close down Nextel Network by midyear of 2013 which finally put an end to their merger?

Apparently, it is true that Sprint Nextel will end the merger by June 30, 2012 to enable Sprint to move on with its 4G LTE roll out plans. They failed to incorporate their technologies with each other although Sprint had put their radios in Nextel's towers. Sprint had the difficulty of maximizing the usage of wireless infrastructures. In addition, Nextel’s push-to-talk technology is continually decreasing its popularity, with customers leaving their side as evidence. Sprint stated that they must maintain their pacing with the other companies that is starting to roll out their 4G LTE plans. The Sprint Nextel merger is a big failure in terms of investments and Sprint might be doing the correct countermeasures in order to prevent more damage.
