Check again if your computer meets the requirements for Sophos antivirus. It will verify if you missed installing something or you have an unsupported operating system. Try uninstalling it then install it back running the installer as administrator. This way, the installer has full privilege in installing the package. Uninstall Sophos then restart the computer. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

Select drive C then click OK. Check “Setup log” and “Temporary files”, click OK then click Delete Files. Restart the computer. Right-click on the Sophos installer then select Properties. Select Compatibility tab then check “Run this program as an administrator” then click OK. Run the installer to install Sophos. See if a similar error appears after the installation.

In case an error occurs when the antivirus starts with the operating system, run the antivirus as administrator. Find the main executable of Sophos antivirus or just right-click on the program’s shortcut on your desktop and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab then check “Run this program as an administrator” then click OK. Start the antivirus manually to see if the program works.

If there is no problem, restart the computer and see if the antivirus starts normally with Windows. You may also consider installing Endpoint Antivirus. Visit Sophos Antivirus for Windows System Requirements for the complete specifications.
