Hey! Just asking. Why did Apple did not invent their own LCDs and why do they have to import from Samsung? Thanks.

I hope that you are completely aware that Apple and Samsung are fighting at court for patent rights, but this has not stopped Apple to buy LCDs from Samsung. It is because if this happens, parts and LCDs bought from Samsung will become cheaper. Not that it is not cheap, it is cheap but they can get it for a cheaper price. iPad3 is said to be getting their LCDs from Samsung, which is kind of ironic isn't it? But Apple is the biggest customer that Samsung has. The iPad3 will have the improved display support graphics with a display resolution of 2048x x1536 pixels, 4:3 ratio for an HD experience. Also, LCDs from Samsung have low temperature polysilicon to be used as a protection for the eyes (to avoid getting your eyes strained). It is said that Apple is going to use it in their iPhone and iPads.

iPad3 is rumoured to be out on the 3rd quarter of the year.
