My iMac has a built in airport wireless internet card. But I am not satisfied with the connection speed as compared to my old Toshiba Satellite A200. Is there a setting that I can customize and will make my connection firm and advanced?

As what I've been research about iMac airport wireless internet card, theres a lot of feedbacks and bad comments some of them can't receive any signals from the router, because it receive weak signals that you cant satisfy, you cant boost it either don't waste your time installing any programs so that you can boost your internet card, even you will buy another wireless router of extender the results are the same.

The only thing that i can suggest you is to buy a new USB wireless adapter and choose with B-G-N, so that you can receive any network mode even its B or G or N. Regards Corner Stat

Hi Natalie,

With regard to your question, I highly recommend that kindly update regularly your Software Updates for your iMac. In order for you to update your software, Click the Apple logo on the top left corner of your screen > click Software Update. This update usually checks for available updates. Then enter your "Administrator Account Name and Password". Then, if installation is complete kindly restart your computer to take effect he changes you've made. Also, kindly reinstall

And also, kindly update your  iMac EFI Update. This update includes fixes that improves and stability for your iMac. It will update your firmware. It may take several minutes to update this so I recommend that do not shut down your computer.

Hope this information might help you.

GoodLuck,
