Hi.

I used to work with SharePoint server 2010 to manage my data but recently I tried to run the configuration wizard, I didn’t understand why I got this message.

Configuration Failed One or more configuration settings failed. Completed configuration settings will not be rolled back. Resolve the problem and run this configuration wizard again. The following contains deleted information about the failure:

Failed to create the configuration database. An exception of type System.FormatException was thrown. Additional exception information: Guide should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).

To diagnose the problem, review the application event log and the configuration log file located at:

The first thing to do is to click on the given link so you can diagnose what went wrong. You can create a new registrykey on the Run window key in regedit and look for the registry key of the infected or corrupted file. Simply change the string value and save your work. Since it is a TimeOut error, you can also try to run the configuration again and check if you have enough memory since having a low memory causes your computer to slow down. You can also install the SharePoint HotFix Package for this program from the Microsoft website.
