Screen is black until I press F11

Hi everyone,

I am having Lenovo Thinkpad T430 with Windows 8 installed recently.

After starting the computer, it will work for some time and suddenly it will show black screen and only point will be shown on the screen. I thought it was processing something, but even waiting for hours no use. I have restarted my laptop by Using a hard boot. Then it worked fine for some time. Again, same problem will come.

Anybody faced the same issue? Please let me know if anybody has suggestions. Thanks a lot in advance.

Screen is black until I press F11

This happens whenever you have a sudden power cut from the laptop's battery. This means that when using the AC adapter when the battery is plugged in the laptop might a receive an over voltage value that will make it fault.

A simple solution is doing a system recovery. A system recovery will restore your past settings depending on when the system restore point was created.

Please follow these steps :

1. Reboot you laptop.

2. When you see the Lenovo logo on the screen hold the F8 key pressed until you see this image: 

3. Using you arrow keys select the "Last Known Good Configuration" option and then press Enter.

4. The system will restore you the the previous good settings that worked flawlessly on your laptop. Nothing will be deleted or lost.

5. Wait until the OS finishes booting up and then you can use your laptop just like before the Black Screen.
