Hello experts,

I can't remember when but I have been wanting to retrieve a confluence content from a removed/deleted client in Active Directory. Do you know how to do this?

If so, can you help me go about it?

I am eagerly waiting for any response.

Thanks in advance!

Retrieve confluence content from a deleted client in Active Directory

Dear Bellaross

When an object is deleted in AD, it's marked for future delete and not immediately erased. Now it's called a "tombstone" which has its "IsDeleted" property set to true. Its life time now is 60 days on Windows 2000/2003 AD and 180 days for Windows server 2003 SP1 SD. The process of restoring tombstones in AD is named "Reanimation". There exist several methods to reanimate tombstones from AD like LDP.exe, ADRestore.net, Microsoft ADRestore, and others. Please consider following this well explained article for a detailed explanation of AD tombstones and the multiple ways to reanimate it: https://www.petri.com/recovering-deleted-items-active-directory

Hope this may help you.

Best of luck
