This error means that the application cannot connect to the email provider.

HOW TO RESOLVE THE ERROR?

The first thing is to tell the program the location of email Server and the requirements to communicate.

Press the Windows key and R key simultaneously. Run dialog box will appear. Enter cmd in it. You will be redirected to the command prompt. In the command window type ‘telnet smtpmailServer.domain.com 25’

To know the SMTP Server locations contact the email provider or go to the Server setting of Windows Live Mail.

  • Right-click on your email account.
  • Select properties.
  • Open the General tab.
  • Check the information filled in.
  • Ensure that ‘Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing’ box is enabled.
  • Go to the Server tab.  Make sure that the HTTP address of the email provider is correct.
  • But if you connect to the account using SMTO or POP3 Servers then check the following settings:
  • POP3 Server is in the form of pop3Server.domain.com (INCOMING MAIL).
  • SMTP Server is in the form of smtpmailServer.domain.com (OUTGOING MAIL).
  • Ensure that the username and password are correct in the Incoming mail Server section.
