SSL Certificate protection means that the data entered is encrypted with high cryptographic algorithms. It is not reachable by others. No one can use it. It will display a chrome SSL certificate error if there are errors on the site.

Main reasons behind chrome SSL Certificate Error on Google Chrome are:

  1. System Time is not real-time.
  2. The SSL certificate has Expired.
  3. Google Chrome is not updated.
  4. The SSL certificate is not installed.
  5.  A Trusted Certificate Authority (CA)  did not give the SSL certificate.
  6.  They are using a self-signed certificate to protect the website.
  7. An outdated 128-bit SSL is protecting the website.
  8. An outdated SHA-1 Algorithm is protecting the website.
  9. Untrusted SSL Client Certificate error.
