Hello Guys! I have a problem to my QuickTime Player. I get this error every time I run in.

I only installed Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary because when I installed it asked if I want to install QuickTimeand I select no because I do have already QuickTimeinstalled and it was QuickTime v7.

How can I get out to this error?

Please help. Thanks.

Hello Cathy Jane,

It seems that the quick time version that you have installed on your computer does not have the plug-in required for you to use the oxford advance learner dictionary and therefore you will need to install it.

I will suggest that you get the recent version of the quick time player by downloading it from the internet and install it, and see if the plug-in error will be done away with.

In case that does not work, then you will need to reinstall QuickTime but this time round make sure that you accept to install the QuickTime version that comes with the dictionary setup and see if that will fix the problem.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Try to check the software if its compatible to your operating system or maybe from your windows just simply check on that and then just simply try to check or scan the software if there an infected files or corrupted files just simply check on that if it’s possible and then try to upgrade or  download new version to your software and then try to uninstall the software from your computer and then  after the reinstall again the software to your computer then restart the machine and then download the error repair tool then just install that to your computer then after that just scan the system just wait for the result then after finishing the scanning  just repair the found errors to your software.

If you’ve installed Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary 7th Edition and you have QuickTime 7 but every time you run the program it displays “The QuickTime Plug-in requires the QuickTime System extension version 5 or later,” the problem is with the program itself. Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary 7th Edition was developed before QuickTime 7 was released and it is referencing to QuickTime 5.

This is the reason why there are incompatibilities. Back in 2006, the solution was to download the patched files and replace all the files in the plug-ins folder of Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary 7th Edition. But unfortunately, the link to the patched files is no longer working. Alternatively, you can just download Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary 9th Edition.

It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x. I’m sure this version will work on QuickTime 7. It requires Intel Pentium 4 or faster processor, 1 GB RAM, and 4.5 GB free space.
