Hello all,

I recently installed Windows XP, but now it won`t start. It just reaches to loading screen and after couple of seconds the PC restarts.

When you start your PC just pump on F8 key, than hit on Last known good configuration. If this doesn’t help, test your HDD, maybe there are some bad sectors.

It helped, thank you. But what is the reason for this?

Maybe you made some changes, or installed some new software. Better scan your system for malicious software.

Your operating system can’t load some of your systems file that is why it hangs-up during boot-up. Booting using the boot options may help but there are some instances the error occurs again on the next boot-up. It is better to boot in safe mode rather than any options then on safe mode, run your command line interface or the CMD.EXE then at the command prompt type CHKDSK /F. This will schedule the check disk to run on the next boot-up. It will fix system files and system indexes so the error won’t get back again unless another problem was developed. This issue occurs mostly when your computer was shut off without proper shut down.
