Hi, I’m having trouble setting up password for the Lotus I use. I’ve been an X1 user for many years,  I am in the process of installing it into my laptop. I’m getting an error while trying to set password, “Error setting password”. I’m also getting the same error when I try “select database and folders to scan” option.  I’m using the version 6.7.3 in standard configuration. Please help me find a solution to this problem

Perhaps, you have the minimum password strength set to 8 for this ID but you are trying to set a password that is eight characters long. The problem is that Notes is looking for password strength of 8, not a password length of 8 characters. Annotations have a mysterious procedure for influential password strength, which is not accurately the similar as the length of the password. This "password" does not have password strength of 8, but Password might. Just you have to try using better passwords and it ought to work.

If you want to reset password then you can recovery it or unless you had set up a password recovery, you may be out of luck. There is no feature to "reset" a password. Do you still have the Certifier ID and its password? If you have it then you can make a new administrator ID with the same username. This is the simple direction.
